Technology Toolbox: Productivity

This Libguide contains a list of websites and applications to enhance projects. Please contact the Learning Technologies Librarian for additional help or questions.

What are these?

These tools help you (and your group) get organized.

Group Projects

thinkbinder creates an online group where you can upload files, chat (text and video), and see the progress of your team's project. It resembles a Facebook Group with Google+ Hangouts and a Pinterest button. It also has a virtual whiteboard for sketching out ideas.

Account: Free, but required.

Wiggio is like your own Angel site. You set up a group and can upload documents, create to-do lists, and send out text messages to the group members.

Account: Free, but required.

Doodle is the easiest way to schedule meetings with a group of people. One person sets up a selection of dates and times and then the others say yes or no. The group can easily see when everyone is available.

Account: Free, not required.

DropBox

DropBox is a place to put files in the cloud and the download them again later. Kind of like a flash drive in the sky.

Account: Free, but you will have to download and install a folder. You will need the DropBox App for your mobile device.

Note Taking

Evernote is a cloud-based notebook. It also takes voice notes and lets you upload pictures. Like DropBox, it syncs across computers and mobile devices.

Account: Free, but you will have to download the application to your computer or mobile device.

WorkFlowy is also a cloud-based notebook. It works like a dynamic outline to organize your thoughts.

Account: Free, but required.

HeapNote is a cloud-based notebook that syncs with your Google Apps account. You can import notes directly into your GoogleDrive and share them with group mates.

Account: Syncs with your LakerApps account.
