Penfield Library Catalog
Using the Catalog
Use the either version of the library's catalogs to find books, videos, DVDs, government documents, and more on your subject. Make a note of the subject headings/descriptors/topics used to describe any good books you locate. Use these as search terms later on in other catalogs or databases.
- To locate DVDs or Videos in the catalog, do an Advanced Search on your topic in the Penfield Library Catalog version of the catalog, and limit by Document Type to Media (will get videos and DVDs).
- To locate Government Documents in the catalog, do an Advanced Search on your topic in the Penfield Library Catalog version of the catalog, and limit by Document Type to US Government Document.
You might also want to try using WorldCat. WorldCat Covers from ancient times to the present, and contains books and other materials in libraries worldwide (IT IS NOT A PERIODICAL INDEX). WorldCat also is a major component of the "Worldwide Libraries Catalog." You’ll probably need to use Interlibrary loan with this database.
