Storyboarding
When planning your digital essay, think about how you will "chunk" your content into different scenes.
Each scene should have:
- Audio (narration, music, and/or sound effects)
- Visual (photos, text, special effects)
- A transition into the next scene
You can put all of these elements together using a storyboard template.
The University of Houston's College of Education has a great overview on storyboarding.
Scripting
It helps to start with your audio narration, because it will help you:
- Determine if your essay is too long or too short
- Help you figure out the timing for each scene in your storyboard (ex. it might take 4 seconds to read one paragraph aloud, so its corresponding scene would be 4 seconds)
You don't need a fancy template for a script - just open a new document and start writing!
