Search the library catalog for the title of the book you're requesting from. You might get zero results, or results that refer to a book review instead of the actual book - like the screenshot below. (This might seem counterintuitive since you already know we don't have the book - but stick with us!)

-
In the dropdown menu next to the search box, select SUNY Catalog. If you still don't see the book you're looking for, select WorldCat instead. In the example pictured below, we found the book in the SUNY Catalog.

-
Click on the text Borrow from another library.
-
Under the "How to get it" heading, click My account to login.

-
After you've logged in, click the link to Request from another library.

-
At the top of the request form, you should see a checkbox next to the text, "I only need a specific chapter or pages." Check that box.
After checking that box, you'll see two new items on the form - a place where you can enter the chapter name, and/or the page numbers. In this example, I only had the chapter name ("Immigrants = Investment = Jobs"), so I pasted that into the 'Chapter' item.

-
Click Send Request at the bottom of the form when you're done. That's it! We'll e-mail you as soon as your request is available, and you'll be able to download a PDF of the chapter you requested.
Good to know
Time frame: Because all chapters are shared with us electronically, you'll usually get them within a few days.
We'll email you when the item has arrived. You will have 30 days to download the PDF, and then it will be removed from our system. (Don't worry - your downloaded PDF will continue to work.)
Copyright restrictions: Due to copyright restrictions, we can only borrow 1 chapter or 10% of a book (whichever is smaller).
