Dissertations and theses are examples of original research completed for a higher degree. The following offer full text access for many dissertations and theses:

If full text access is not available, here are some options:

  • Try requesting the item through our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service.
  • Try going to the institutional repository for the institution that granted the dissertation or thesis and see if it can be accessed there.  Ask a librarian for help.
  • Try contacting the author directly.
  • Purchase the item on the ProQuest website.

Finding theses completed at SUNY Oswego:

  • Visit the Penfield Library Catalog, type in a keyword, and then click Dissertations under the Resource Type header on the left.
