EOP Blog Project 2016: Project Details

About the Project

The Group Blog Project & Video

  • You will be working with your writing group to create a blog which responds to the following questions:
    1. What college challenges does your group anticipate?
    2. What can your group do to work on solutions to these challenges?
  • Your final group blog will include two short videos related to the questions above. This video must include images and audio which are licensed for reuse (Creative Commons licenses).
    • Include a minimum of 3 images
    • Include a minimum of 1 audio/music piece 
    • Final videos should be 1-2 minutes long
  • You will have time during some library sessions to work on your videos and get help from librarians.
  • Your group will give a 7-10 minute presentation about your blog & video during the final week of the program.

  • Student does not include citations for images or audio used in the project
  • Student does not use Creative Commons licensed materials
  • Video does not clearly lay out the problem being addressed and offer solutions
  • Student does not seek additional instructor help at office hours
  • Student does not meet with tutor for assignments/questions
  • Student does not seek clarification for questions on assignments

70-89 points

  • Assignment is completed and handed in on time
  • Clarifying questions are asked as needed
  • All assignment guidelines are followed
  • Assignment contains few mechanical, punctuation, and/or grammatical errors
  • Assignment has minimal errors
  • Assignment is coherent, organized, and flows well
  • Student includes citations for Creative Commons media
  • Student uses Creative Commons images and audio
  • Video describes problem and solutions, but some elements are unclear
  • Student meets with instructor/tutor on minimal basis
  • Student seeks clarification for questions on assignments on minimal basis

90-100 points

  • Assignment is completed and handed in on time or early
  • Clarifying questions are asked as needed
  • All assignment guidelines are followed
  • Perfect attendance
  • Outstanding participation
  • Assignment contains no or exceptionally few mechanical, punctuation, and/or grammatical errors
  • Assignment is exceptionally coherent and organized, and flows well
  • Student includes citations for Creative Commons media in the correct citation format
  • Student uses Creative Commons images and audio, including one image that can be modified
  • Optional: Student creates a Creative Commons license to attach to their video
  • Student meets with instructor/tutor multiple times to go over assignment/questions
  • Student returns to instructor office hours/tutoring with drafts of assignment a minimum of 24hrs prior to due date
  • Student regularly seeks clarification for questions on assignments
