OER Services
We help faculty and staff with Open Educational Resources (OERs) by offering:
- One-on-one or small group introductory and ongoing project consultations
- Educational sessions and workshops
- Guidance on best practices for OER creation, adaption, and accessibility
We also help with:
- Identifying and evaluating appropriate OER textbooks
- Identifying appropriate publishing platforms for adapting and creating OER
- Interpreting and adopting Creative Commons licenses
- Depositing OER works in appropriate repositories

All COM 211 (Strategic Communication in Business) instructors use an OER textbook adapted by Communication Studies lecturer Rose Marie Crisalli in their sections.

Creating OERs
- Kristen Munger (former Associate Dean, School of Education) edited and contributed to a textbook entitled Steps to Success: Crossing the Bridge Between Literacy Research and Practice.
- Former Curriculum & Instruction faculty member Maria S. Murray also contributed chapters to Steps to Success: Crossing the Bridge Between Literacy Research and Practice.
- Roger Hinrichs (Emeritus, Physics) is one of the senior contributing authors of the OpenStax textbook College Physics.
Adopting & Adapting OERs
