Handling Full-Text Linking

As a Peer Reference Assistant it will be helpful for you to understand the visual layout of database search results. When you are searching in Penfield's databases you will come across a mix of full text articles and article citations in your results list. This is true of most searches that you will conduct, and it can be a potential source of confusion for people unfamiliar with what they are looking at.

In your search results list, look for links beneath articles or in the citations that look say something along the lines of "PDF Full Text":

Clicking on the "PDF Full Text" icon at the bottom of the citation will take you to the full text article.

When you want a permanent link to a full text article, remember to look for the permalink!

Copying the URL out of the bar in your browser often results in a broken link when you try to revisit the page.  Look for a "Permalink" or "Permanent link" option on your results screen or the screen about the specific article you're interested in.
