Handling Full-Text Linking

As a Peer Reference Assistant it will be helpful for you to understand the visual layout of database search results. When you are searching in Penfield's databases you will come across a mix of full text articles and article citations in your results list. This is true of most searches that you will conduct, and it can be a potential source of confusion for people unfamiliar with what they are looking at. Whether you are searching for the full text version of an article or answering a question regarding full-text linking, here is what you need to know:

In your search results list, look for links beneath articles or in the citations that look like this:

Clicking on the 'PDF Full Text' icon at the bottom of the citation will take you to the full text article.

Permalink

When you want a permanent link to a full text article, remember to look for the permalink.
